About the road
Central Park's drives have been closed to cars since 2018, and the full loop is where New York goes to ride. This road starts on the West Drive by 72nd Street and goes round the way the drives run: south to the bottom of the park, up the East Drive past Cat Hill and the Reservoir, then over Harlem Hill at the north end and back down the west side.
Harlem Hill is the climb people talk about. It is short, but it comes round on every lap.
Also known as Central Park Drive, the park loop, West Drive and East Drive.
How to ride it on your trainer
- Open longvoie in Chrome or Edge on a laptop or desktop. It is free: an email and a code to sign in, no password, no card.
- Connect your trainer: any smart trainer that speaks FTMS (Wahoo, Tacx, Elite…), or a power meter, and a heart-rate strap if you have one. No trainer yet? Ride on the keys.
- Pick Central Park Loop. longvoie sets your trainer's resistance as the road climbs and eases it as it falls, and you ride it in 3D, on the real street.
- Stop whenever you like. Your next ride starts from the metre you stopped at.
